January is a time to celebrate a new calendar year and a fresh start to ministry after our Winter break! In addition to starting our regular weekly programs and school visits, we also started a program that is very near and dear to my heart: the Burton Snowboard CHILL program! It is a FREE program for low income or inner city teens to learn to snowboard and gain important life skills 1 night a week for 7 weeks from January through March!

This year, 15 of our students from Monroe and Everett/Casino Road are participating in the program! As a snowboarder myself, I've gained a lot from the sport including self confidence, physical exercise, a much-needed break from daily routines, fun, a sense of accomplishment at overcoming a challenge, and the feeling of being closer and more connected to God as I look at the amazing mountains and his beautiful creation! I want this for our City Life teens as well! I want them to have new experiences and challenges that help them grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually! Pray for our 15 students and 3 adult leaders who are leading them each Wednesday!

PRAY

  • Pray for our students who have mentally unstable parents.
  • Pray for our students and leaders who are snowboarding (for safety and bravery).
  • Pray for our Student Leaders and Leaders in Training (former student who are 18+) and that they will choose each day to follow God/their heavenly Father's leading, guiding, and wisdom!
  • Two homeless teens were placed in homes this month! Please continue to pray for them as they get acclimated to their new living situations.
