Although most youth spend the majority of their day in a school community, all return to the greater community where life is not easy, challenges are many, and success is elusive. The Cultured team is present in the community through events, activities, and presence.
The Cultured team is present every day in the South Seattle and Rainier Beach community. This is our home, and these are all our kids.
For some youth, juvenile detention has become their temporary home. Cultured reaches out to the local juvenile detention facilities and are valued members of their team. We seek to combine justice, redemption, and love into the lives of youth who need it most.
Gun violence is a reality in our community, Cultured works closely on three very special programs to both prevent gun violence and to serve the victims and families after an incident.
The Critical Incident Response Team is on call by the schools, Seattle Police and other organizations to respond and help de-escalate situations.
The Street Team not only provides the people for the Critical Incident Response but also provides a regular community presence to provide peace of mind, de-escalation, and ready resources for youth in their world.
The Community Aftercare Support Program works with church partners to provide care for victims of gun violence and their families. Violence leaves a painful imprint on everyone involved and it takes years to work through. The Community Aftercare Support partners are there for 1-2 years to help, comfort, and minister to the entire family.
