Learning the Heart Way - Vasti’s Prayer Update

My worship anthem this month is…

“ I will sing of your goodness
I will sing of your love
Though the seasons come quickly
You have always been enough
Though the night may get darker
Though the waiting seems long
You have always been faithful
To remind me of your love
You are good
In the morning I'll sing
You are good
In the evening I'll sing
You are good
You are good to me”

We started the month in the mountains worshiping with 8 students from our site. God’s presence was tangible and powerful. We experienced healing and forgiveness as we shared from the deepest most painful part of our hearts. We had no idea what the rest of this month would look like. What we did know, was that God would remain faithful!

We heard from a community member, Officer Craig Hanaumi, at our last City Life gathering. He shared with us what life is like for him serving and meeting students on the east side of Bellevue. We were honored to have him spend time with us and are excited for future events with him.

After our last City Life gathering, life became what you would call "chaotic". I am feeling what many of my students are feeling; anxious, lonely, depressed, uncertain, and in desperate need for community.

We spent a lot of time outdoors reflecting and embracing Gods beautiful creation. I love celebrating. I believe life is still worth celebrating, despite everything being canceled and us having to adjust to a new way of being. My hope is in Jesus. I am certain that God's promises and plans for our lives aren’t canceled. He is who he says he is. He is greater than our world's chaos. He is our hope!

I love that together we are better!

  • Pray for God to provide for the families we serve who are out of work and struggling to make ends meet.
  • Pray for our team as we get creative to continue to minister to students virtually.
  • Pray for peace and wisdom as we learn how to navigate life during this season.

Throughout the week, we hope to continue to provide at least one meal to students who are home alone. I want to invite you to consider giving to our COVID-19 relief fund.

Our team will be creating short encouraging messages to share with our students on Instagram. If you want to be part of sharing a powerful truth during this season, please reply to this email and attach your video.
Let's continue to learn the heart way!
