Congratulations Class of 2020! - Yaritsa’s Prayer Update

This month, we celebrated our seniors leading up to their COVID special graduation.  This class will go down in history for how they have overcome all the obstacles thrown at them by a global pandemic. I apologize to this year's seniors: you weren’t able to experience what every senior deserves to experience. Your community mourns that loss of this tradition with you and we are so proud of you each.

Multiple businesses and organizations stepped in to make each senior feel recognized and honored for their accomplishment in graduating by posting banners congratulating them, featuring seniors on their buildings, providing discounts, etc.  I am truly grateful for this supportive community. Though it may not be perfect, it is hopeful to see, in my opinion, that there are very great things happening in Monroe.

Again congratulations to our City Life seniors who stuck it out in high school (which we all know is difficult).  This generation continues to surprise me and will continue to make this world a better place.  The other day, I read 2 Chronicles 34. In this chapter, the new king, Josiah, begins to restore the kingdom to its righteous ways by worshiping God in contrast to the previous king who had put up altars to worship other idols and manipulated the kingdom to stray from worshiping God.  King Josiah does this in his YOUTH!  Our youth today are already taking action like Josiah to take back their kingdom and bring down what isn’t righteous.

  • Join us in praying over each student's family: favor in the parent's work, finances, food supply, and family relationships.
  • Pray that our government officials would do what is right and be held accountable to bring justice to those who deserve it.
  • Pray that those in place to make important decisions on what school will look like this coming year would be full of wisdom. Pray that the decisions they make would be practical and keep everyone safe and healthy.

I invite you to partner with us as we continue to minister to students and families in Monroe. Click the button below to make a donation to support our ministry work and thank you for your continued prayer!
