Yaritsa’s Prayer Update - March 2020

March has proven to be quite a head scratcher as we learn more about the COVID-19 virus and its effects on our programs. We’ve seen the worst and best of communities come out during this declared pandemic and I am choosing to be motivated by the best side moments. Our Monroe community has stepped in right when needed to support each other.

Here are some of the great things happening in Monroe: the school district is providing meals for all students, the local food bank is providing groceries with teams delivering them door to door, a few organizations are providing free child care for those who need it, businesses are offering discounted products or services, and neighbors are looking out for each other.

Although we can not gather at City Life or meet for face to face activities, we are STILL dedicated to ensuring our students' needs are met during this time. We are doing this by virtually checking in weekly with each student, sharing resources with them, and providing some virtual activities to enlighten the situation.

Some of our own student leaders gave their time to help prepare grocery boxes for families at the local Sky Valley Food Bank. There was much to do and we were happy to help out.

I continue to have hope in my God and in my community to support one another. Hope you are all doing well and may you be blessed during this time. Stay safe and healthy!

  • Join us in praying over each student's family. Favor in the parents work, finances, food supply, and family relationships.
  • Pray for our volunteers and community support members as they continue to encourage and support City Life.
  • Pray for our community to not be caught up in the stress and burden of this COVID season, but to remain anchored to the word and trust in Him.

We have an opportunity for our supporters to help out with the needs of our students. If you would like to donate in any way, please click here. You can be a huge blessing to a family in need!
