Transforming the lives of at-risk youth and their families in Everett

The city of Everett is growing rapidly. As the largest city in Snohomish County, it is anticipated to double in size in the next decade. Amidst this rapidly growing community, and a booming industrial business district, which is home to a local airport and Boeing, lies Casino Road. Casino Road is home to 40 plus apartment complexes and has the highest rate of crime in Snohomish County. We learn from the scriptures that all people are created in the image of God, and are worthy of his love and opportunites, and that is why we are there weekly; serving, loving and sharing the light of Jesus with these amazing young people and their families.

Consider these stats about Everett/Snohomish County:

  • 1 in 5 youth in Everett have seriously considered ending their lives
  • 4 in 5 youth in the Casino Road neighborhood live below the poverty line.
  • Gang activity has jumped by 75% in the last year.
  • There are around 400 active gang members in Everett and recruiting youth as young as 10 years old.
  • Much of the violence in south Snohomish County involves gang members just 14 years old.
  • 3 in 10 teens will get pregnant at least once before age 20.
  • More than 50% of teen mothers never graduate from high school
  • Over 500 different youth were admitted into a detention facility this year.

But, through our City Life ministry, we are catching kids before they fall through the cracks.
