In Everything Give Thanks
POET: UNKNOWN
For all that God in mercy sends –
For health and children, home and friends;
For comfort in the time of need,
For every kindly word and deed,
For happy talks and holy thoughts;
For guidance in our daily walk –
In everything give thanks!
For beauty in this world of ours,
For verdant grass and lovely flowers,
For song of birds, for horn of bees,
For the refreshing summer breeze,
For hill and plain, for streams and wood,
For the great ocean’s mighty flood –
In everything give thanks!
For the sweet sleep which comes with night,
For the returning morning’s light,
For the bright sun that shines on high,
For the stars glittering in the sky –
For these and everything we see,
O Lord our hearts we lift to thee;
In everything give thanks!
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:4-7
I am continuously thankful for the people we have in our lives: volunteers that show up and give when needed and the prayer and financial support which is the foundation of how we are able to still continue in this ministry work.
PRAY
- Pray for a male intern to join our team.
- Pray for the community as the violence in the area continues to get worse.
- Pray the students will be safe.
Highlights
There were a lot of fun activities we did with the youth! At our gala fundraiser for Youth For Christ, the students performed and told their beautiful stories of hope. During the Halloween Boo Bash, our community gathered and we gave our talent and time to promote peace and love in the community. In November, about 50 kids came out to a Turkey Bowl where we played football, soccer, and broke bread together while giving thanks to God for what he has done.
